Duties and Responsibilities:

Instructed winds and percussion for grades 7 and 8, participating at home Junior High football games as a pep band, two parades each year, two public concerts each year, and concert band performance evaluation

Assistant Directed the Picayune Memorial High School “Maroon Tide” Marching Band; responsibilities include instruction of marching techniques, assisting in development of show concepts and visual design, instructing the “front ensemble” of the percussion section

Assistant Directed the Picayune Memorial High School Concert Band

Assisted with directing and teaching responsibilities for the Picayune School District Jazz Band, a jazz and popular music ensemble that meets once a week after school, consisting of auditioned students from 7th to 12th grade

Assisted in instruction of sixth grade beginning band (woodwinds & percussion) alongside the high school band director

Assisted students in preparation for auditions for Honor Bands, Competitions, and College Scholarships
Accomplishments and Successes:

PMHS Marching Band was invited to perform during the game and at halftime at the Arena Football League New Orleans Voodoo game; a regular security officer mentioned it was the "best band they had ever heard"

PMHS Marching Band consistently received SUPERIOR Ratings at Mississippi Bandmasters' Association Regional Marching Assessment each year since Fall 2013

PMHS Marching Band participated via invitation in the Mississippi Bandmasters' Association State Marching Championships every year since Fall 2014

Placed TWELFTH in Class 5A in Preliminary Performance in 2014

Placed FOURTEENTH in Class 5A in 2015

Placed TWELFTH and received SECOND in MUSIC GENERAL EFFECT in Class 5A in 2016

PMHS Concert Band received SUPERIOR ratings on-stage at Mississippi Bandmasters' Association Regional Concert Assessment in 2017 and 2018 and EXCELLENT ratings in Sight-reading

PMHS Concert Band consistently received STRAIGHT SUPERIOR Ratings at South Mississippi Concert Band Festival since 2013

PJHS Concert Band received STRAIGHT SUPERIOR Ratings at South Mississippi Concert Band Festival since 2014, not accomplished since the early 1990s

One student successfully auditioned for Mississippi Lion's All-State Band twice in High School

Many students represented Picayune High School and Junior High Bands each year in GCBDA Honor Band Clinic, William Carey University Honor Band Clinic, Pearl River Community College Honor Band Clinic, All-South Honor Band Clinic, and the University of Alabama Honor Band from 2013 to 2018

Several students from Picayune Band received band participation scholarships to two-year colleges and four-year universities each year, including two Music Education Majors (c/o 2015 and 2016) and one Music Performance Major (c/o 2018)

Picayune Memorial High School Band was recognized on social media by a Walt Disney World cast member on a band trip in April 2017 for outstanding maturity and respectful manners toward WDW employees and guests, as a result of wearing T-shirts identifying them as members of the band
